Doc's opening theme is the influence of the sphere in sports, art and surgery. Doc's examples are Dick Weber in sports, Johnny 'Dandy' Rodriguez in art and the Di Vinci robot in surgery. Doc tells a personal story about advise comedian Carl Reiner once gave him and Dr. Charlie Neer's studies on the rotator cuff.
