Routes Through Pokemon

Having beaten Koga, it was time to start gathering Pokemon from the Safari Zone as well as gaining access to some more moves for our Pokemon to get around Kanto. Then it was an uphill struggle on Cycling Road before returning to Saffron City where we could finally access Silph Co. Navigating that maze and facing off again with both our rival AND Giovanni, we drive Team Rocket out of town so we can battle Sabrina for the Marsh Badge!

Then, we cover 9 episodes of Season 1 of the anime where Ash and co catch up with Koga while we caught up with Ash with Sabrina and then we see him also explore the Safari Zone and a Cycling Zone.

After the show we travel further back along Hanako's timeline!

With another gym down it is time to trek to that sixth badge in the Manga and Anime. First, Ruby wins some more ribbons in Fallarbor and meets Gym Leader Wallace who has the prettiest Pokemon. Meanwhile, Sapphire makes it to Fortree and battles Winona. And one of the starters reaches its final evolution, wrapping up Vol. 18!

Then, in the Anime, we get a lot of starter Pokemon and an argument between May and Ash leads to a strange team-up and an amusing and chaotic battle. New Pokemon are caught, we see a Master Ball in the show, and a special guest returns to the show, just in time.

Having seen Ash win his fifth Badge from Norman and with Sapphire skipping over to Fortree in the Manga, it is time for us to get back to Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Here we go back and explore the sea routes Mr. Briney took us on now that we have Surf. There was a ship there that we wanted to explore. Then its full speed ahead to get a new rod, give some interviews, and run into Team Aqua/Magma at the Weather Institute. Once that's all cleared up, we have a rival battle which sets Ruby and Shea to battle on the episode and after meeting Steven a couple of times we can see the invisible and try our luck at Winona's turnstiles.

We're almost to the next gym in the anime but first, we are going to find we don't quite make it that in the Manga.

First, we finish up Ruby's encounter with Team Magma as they try to recruit him. Then, our last chapter, is all about a Gym Leaders meeting where only 6 of...9!? show up to discuss whether or not Team Magma or Team Aqua are the good guys.

In the Anime, we bend some rules on tally counts, meet new Pokemon, see some evolutions, and watch a marriage almost fall apart because of some misunderstandings. All that, leads to Ash making an attempt to defeat Norman for the Balance Badge!

We've earned the 5th badge in Hoenn in our playthrough of Gen 3 and so now to start the journey there in the manga and anime.

First, in the manga, we finally catch up with Ruby, who we last left sleeping in a car a while ago. He finally starts winning some ribbons in a contest before dealing with a tunnel collapse.

Then, in the anime, a new Pokemon joins the team, Ash actually returns to battle someone for once out of all the times he's claimed he would, and May takes on another contest. We may even be witnessing the start of a romance!

We've caught up in ReRouted and some RTP Adventures after the summer break and so it is time to finally dive back into Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald where our hosts chase after the 5th gym badge! But first...the Desert!!! Fossils are found and something strange appears in Emerald giving Shea quite the challenge to get his fossil. From there, a revist to the Devon Corporation to get the fossils revived and then it's back to Petalburg to finally face Norman, our father.

The leg, being a little short, Ruby goes on a quest to breed as many Wobuffet as she can, hoping to hatch a shiny, and we discover that New Muaville wasn't just a creation for the Manga.

After the episode we catch up with Violet and Hanako getting prepared for the Cerulean Gym.

We came back from our summer vacation with a ReRouted episode and now it's finally time to catch up to where we're at in the games Ruby and Sapphire (and Emerald) in both the Manga and Anime!

In the Manga we get the legend of Kyogre and Groudon before following Sapphire as she joins Flannery against Team Aqua. The Volcano is halted and they need to restart it. Team Magma is there to help. Then, Sapphire and Flannery rest and recover and battle.

In the Anime, we finally get May's attempt at the contest. Afterward we meet a Cheer Squad, run into some Numel, and Ash and co have a battle atop Mt. Chimney just like we did in the games and Sapphire in the manga. This all leads to Ash meeting Flannery and attempting to earn his Heat Badge!

We are back from out summer break! Violet finds herself a fugitive, suspected of stealing Pokemon. In truth, she is recovering after a building falling on her and she has lost most her Pokemon. Thanks to the aid of Shiro, Hanako, and some new friends, she fends off Team Rocket and the stranger and ends up with a new Pokemon before heading off to try and win against Lt. Surge.

Meanwhile, Murasaki and Beck try to escape the haunted Pokemon Tower and find search for a way to get Murasaki is long sought after Gengar. Ghosts, bullies, and wild Pokemon make for a difficult journey.

And throughout it all we begin to get a backwards glimpse into Hanako's journey leading filling in some of the gaps of where she's been and her goals of finding proof that there is an Ekans of a different color in the world.
