• This was the first ever Royal Rumble, involving 20 wrestlers.
• One Man Gang held the record for most eliminations in a single rumble, and most eliminations overall with six.
• Bret Hart was the first ever entrant in a Royal Rumble match, and he held a record for longevity time lasting 25:42.
• Butch Reed was the first ever elimination in a Royal Rumble match.
• Winning the inaugural Royal Rumble, Jim Duggan was the first person to win the Royal Rumble on his first try.
