03.24.2016 - By Pole Parlour
On this episode, we have Roz Mays, aka Roz the Diva. Roz is a New York City based pole instructor and fitness trainer specializing in exercise virgins and plus sized women. During our interview, we talk about her wild ride as a pole dancer over the past 9 years, including the media blitz that arose after—on America’s Got Talent—Howard Stern told her she was “too fat to have a career in fitness”, her experience loosing multiple jobs for being a pole dancer, and the inspiration behind launching Dangerous Curves, the world’s first plus-sized pole competition. Amongst many other things. And just to keep it real, I was suffering from some major allergies during the interview so apologize for any coughs I wasn’t able to edit out, and thank Roz for being so cool when we had to pause and re-record. Multiple times.
