This weekend Ashleigh is a part of the Governor-General's XI playing against South Africa, in Sydney, she made her debut at 13 for NSW in the Imparja Cup, tournament for indigenous players in Alice Spring. Earlier this year she was named to captain of the indigenous side which toured India and has been re-signed with the Sydney Sixers for the upcoming WBBL02.

Emerging batter Ashleigh Gardner was named the Lord's Taverners Indigenous Player of the Year in early 2015, becoming the first women to win this award.
Gardner headed all comers to top the runs tally at Cricket Australia's Under-18 Championships in January 2015 with 199 runs to lead New South Wales to the title and claim Player of the Championships.
To add to her growing list of titles, she also won Player of the Tournament at Imparja Cup 2015.
She subsequently travelled to Dubai with the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars to take on England Academy
Governor-General's XI v South Africa match, play commencing at 10.30am, Sunday 13 November at Drummoyne Oval, Sydney.
