Welcome to Ruff Rave Episode 2.

To be completely honest, this is by far the greatest set I have ever mixed in my life. As a hobbyist with minimal time to devote to the decks between life's daily demands, this mix represents years of behind-the-scenes practice, late-night sessions, and an unyielding passion for electronic music.

But here’s the kicker: this entire set was created completely on the fly.

I don't pre-plan my sets. I have zero transitions saved, no cue points set in advance (I literally drop them on the fly while mixing), and I have absolutely no idea what track is coming next until I’m scanning the controller screen in real time. It is 100% pure improvisation.

Because of that freedom, this set is an absolute journey. It opens with deep melodic progressive grooves, peaks into driving tech-trance nostalgia, and circles back home through sweeping house records. Is there a lot of cheese in here? Absolutely. But it’s the finest kind of cheese—the hands-in-the-air anthems that remind us exactly why we fell in love with dance music in the first place.

Technically, my philosophy is dead simple: match the phrases among tracks in key, harmonize the gains, and trust your instincts. I’ve learned that the more you simplify your workflow and strip away the over-engineered preparation, the more you can let your ears truly guide the transition. When you fly without a net, you find the real magic.
