Rules as Code: Rethinking government rule making

New research is rethinking one of the core functions of government – rule making. In this episode, we talk with Alex Roberts, Deputy Head of the Observatory of Public Sector Innovation at the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). He provides clarity to the concept of “Rules as Code” and how it can improve the compliance, efficiency, and integration of rules. We discuss this new model for rule making and the efforts to help governments take a more strategic, deliberate, and systematic approach to innovation through digital systems.
