Delegation of work is important if you want to become a good manager and there is a right way of doing it. You must make sure that you delegate but not abdicate the work. This requires a proper feedback mechanism which ensures that subordinate to whom the work is delegated is meeting the objectives and also ensuring the timely completion. Though excessive accountability checks can lead to curtailment of autonomy and hamper the efficiency, but not so if you do it the right way!
