Does your teen like to break rules and push boundaries? Congratulations! You are the parent of a normal teenager.

No teen likes to feel restricted. The thing is, though, limitations are good for them! For example, we have a number of beautiful horses at Heartlight. And because I love and value these horses, I put up fences for them. I create boundaries for them.

The same is true for our children. We set up boundaries in order to keep them safe. And even if your teen don’t understand that yet, never forget it yourself. When enforcing rules and giving consequences gets difficult, stick to your guns! Not because you’re a tyrant, but because you love your teen.
