War of Whispers Book Series by J.E. Lowder
- Genesis 4:2-8
- It is absolutely incredible how profound and short this event is!
- What is the key lesson/aspect about God’s character from this infamous encounter between two brothers and God?
- I think it would be rather easy to sum this story up with Hebrews 11:4 and Romans 14:23 (which may be a topic for another time, but I am not so sure it directly applies).
- This story is so much deeper than, “oh well Cain sinned, Abel didn’t, if Cain just offered a better sacrifice all would be good”.
- My takeaway from this entire account is V.7!
- It’s interesting to note that God didn’t punish Cain, he didn’t rebuke until after Cain’s anger sept in.
- This passage, in my opinion, offers insights into the battle between sin and man versus displeasing God with maybe a half-hearted offering.
- Luke 15
- With the return of the prodigal son and the oldest’s reaction is anger (Luke 15:28).
- War of the Whispers
- James 4:7-8
- 1 Peter 5:8
