Run-DMCs music bridged the gap of rock and rap, representing people who were otherwise not being seen or heard. To Eminem – and many teenagers growing up in the 1980s – Run DMC were “The Beatles” of the rap scene. These Kings of Rock were the group that convinced the public that hip-hop was here to stay and all it took was two turntables and a microphone.
