About Caroline Malloy:Caroline Malloy, Ph.D. is a Chicago-based historian and book editor who ran marathons to stay grounded in grad school. When a recurring stress fracture forced her off the road, she pivoted to coaching. Caroline is a certified group fitness instructor (ACE & TRX), cycle instructor (Spinning™️), personal trainer (NASM), and now running coach (RRCA). She's finishing her Lydiard Level II training this Summer. Having experienced first-hand the benefits of getting strong before getting back out on the road, Caroline is a "fitness first" coach, encouraging runners to build full, well-rounded fitness practices to strengthen their miles. In the past year, she finally started running her own races again, completing a 15K, 2 half marathons, and her favorite race, Chicago's Shamrock Shuffle 8K. She's thrilled to be training for her first (Chicago) marathon in over a decade this fall.
