The Dignity of Women

Running a Household

Listen Later

KC Breakaway Segment
This fun interview with Christian Radio’s Claude Jennings allowed me to get into the “nitty-gritty” of running a household as a stay-at-home mom of little kids. The funny, the frustrating, and the need for affirmation!
Claude and I went beyond my book, "Mommy, Mommy, When You Pray," and discussed the serious and silly sides of the vocation of parenthood. From the absence of accolades, such as "best diaper changer," to the hefty weight of getting souls to heaven.
We address how often parents get caught up in trying to provide the best for our children and spouse, all while neglecting our own spiritual nourishment. Suddenly, we find ourselves drowning in daily tasks, without a support system.
Being a stay-at-home parent is a tough job all around - physically, spiritually, and mentally. It pushes you to your limit in every area, and because of this there is a great need for the other spouse, as well as family and friends to be supportive and understanding. In the end, there is a lot of hard yet rewarding work that goes into this vocation.
This interview was truly a pleasure, and I hope it was able to hit some listeners, who maybe laughed, nodded along, or even were inspired in their own journey. Perhaps a husband or two even went home with flowers...or a makeshift accolade!
