In the final episode for 2020, I sit down with Lauren Beihoffer of Tennessee. I became friends with Lauren on social media through Instagram, Lauren_Runswild and later on Facebook and have followed her running adventures as well as her own podcast she hosts "Run Wild with Lauren and Bud".
In this episode we chat about Lauren's beginning roots of being a non-runner and the natural progression of her embracing her first 50K and eventually leading into running 100 mile ultra-marathons.
When Lauren, who has a degree in bio-chemistry, isn't teaching, she is a full-time wife, mom of special needs children and ultra-runner extraordinaire. Her true specialty is in trail running and mountain hiking. That is definitely her go-to now as she begins to embrace lots of 'vert' for her next test looming in August 2021, the Bigfoot 200.
I had a great time just talking running and life with her and loved the banter back and forth about keeping a balance and finding our true passion in running. We can't focus on what others are doing, but rather focus on who we are and the moment we are in. I hope you will be inspired by this down-to-earth and awesome running conversation.
May you have a blessed and prosperous 2021 as the new year approaches.
