All that we experience as we daily walk by faith tests our grit to believe God. In large and small things. And sometimes those things all but bury you since Satan’s plan is just that—to bury you. But then, even when we are right at the breaking point God’s love breaks through: “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” Love builds faith in our hearts that ASSUMES a future. No matter what. Against all odds. 

The born-again believer is a steward. In everything. In all of life. For stewards, discipline is key.  Also vision that responds to what God asks and makes the difference between something half-hearted and motivated by religious guilt, and a disciplined response to God’s prompting that we look back on later, see the worth and realize we have partnered with the leading of Holy Spirit to become the blessing laid out for Abraham: “And you shall be a blessing, a source of great good to others.” We are thankful for every listener of this podcast and excited to share this episode with you in this joyous season.

As children we think, talk, and act like children. We are immature, lack measure, do not pace ourselves very well and bristle against even the slightest inconvenience or correction.  But the Apostle Paul said we are to move beyond all that to mature in our faith, learning for example that seeing is NOT believing, and that to win by cheating through manipulation of others is not a win at all. Shirley discusses the release of God’s power into our lives when we choose to grow up this way and the role of godly mentors who disciple and train us along the way.

God’s power is one of the ways He demonstrates His love for us. And as disciples of Jesus Christ and stewards of His love and power we choose to live in certain ways that reflect Him. Our choices are the example others imitate. Jesus said the Kingdom is within you so we choose a lifestyle that reflects the Kingdom of God on earth, understanding our ultimate destination is the Kingdom of Heaven.

What if limitations like fear of failure, criticism or rejection did not restrict us with such importunity; if we were more familiar with God’s power and presence in everything–family life, relationships, business? And what if dependance on the expert class were not as prevalent? If instead of medicine we’d choose divine healing; or instead of a profitable bottom line we understood work is worship, which for the born-again Believer is worship of God? What does it take to remain focused spiritually and confidently full of faith for the prayerful, desired outcome we want so desperately when everything around us provokes the opposite—fear of the future, fear of what might go wrong? Jesus said keep your mind SET on the things of God, not the things of man. That’s because Satan’s trap begins with a lie, often subtle, and builds additional layers of other more sophisticated lies to convince you his lies are true. In fact Satan is a liar—always. Period.
