My guest this week has always lived life on her own terms. Straight out of high school, Tamara Schoon trained to become a Russian linguist. She then moved through military ranks to become a high-ranking female officer...and now she has added stand-up comedy and podcasting to her fascinating resume.

My takeaways:

• Go for the hard things... the journey is going to be so fun if you do!
• Talk about the uncomfortable things- you can change someone's life just by talking about the topics that most people consider taboo.
