Chapter 1:
-Riyadh has ordered the ambassador to leave the country within 24 hours, after Canada criticised the arrest of activists. The Kingdom has also frozen trade and investment with Canada, and recalled its own envoy in Ottawa.
Chapter 2:
-Last week, a Russian oil tanker carrying crude oil docked at the Washington State port of Anacortes. The port is increasingly becoming the destination for Russian sourced oil for the Pacific Northwest. Anacortes is the home of two oil refineries, one of which is a delivery location for Kinder Morgan’s pipeline expansion. Why is it receiving oil from Russia when Canada, Alaska and North Dakota can provide the same thing?
Chapter 3:
-There’s a growing call for clean opioids to be provided to drug users in the wake of statistics showing the death toll in the week of July 23-29 was 11; the worst week on record this year. Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson is calling for clean drugs to be made available to those at a greater risk of overdose. Has the government’s actions so far been adequate?
