In Ruth 4:1-12, Boaz finally redeems Ruth and makes her his bride. He went to great lengths to care for Ruth because of his great love for her. In the same way, Jesus, the greater Boaz, also went to great lengths to purchase His bride--the church. He became a curse on the cross and redeemed us from slavery to sin.
