Ruth is a portrait of God’s loyalty to us.

What does it mean to be loyal and who are we to be loyal to? Are we committed to someone or something only as long as there is something in it for us?

Are we committed to someone even if he doesn’t live up to our expectations?

God is also calling us to become loyal to Him. He is calling us to do what He called Ruth to do: to leave behind all of the commitments to the old life and commit ourselves to a whole new beginning.
