The Buckeyes have known for months that they had a 3-game build up to their first "real" test, even though they would never acknowledge that fact publicly. With a 3-0 record in place and after having learned an awful lot about their own strengths and weaknesses, Ohio State is ready to take on a Notre Dame Fighting Irish team that is eager to prove it's a College Football Playoff contender.

In fact, you could argue that the winner of this game should receive first place votes in next week's AP Poll. Ryan Day and Jim Knowles met with the media on Tuesday afternoon, expressing a business-like attitude this week and knowing they are ready for a stout test on the road. Thankfully, unlike last season, the Buckeyes had a chance to build up to playing this game rather than opening the season against the Irish.
