When GM announced that they were bringing back the Hummer nameplate, a lot of eyebrows went skyward. If that wasn’t enough, they then said that the once combat vehicle, turned mall crawler, was now coming back as a full-sized EV. Yup, that’s right, one of the most inefficient and impractical vehicles ever produced was now being resurrected into a green EV. Now obviously, a lot of us in the automotive world were skeptical of this thing, but after speaking with Ryan Douthit of Driving Sports TV, who recently reviewed one, we were surprised to learn that the 9,500-pound (not a misprint) pick-up is much better than anyone could’ve anticipated!

Stoner comes from the world of big advertising and publishing before coming to Hemmings, while Musto made a name for himself as an automotive journalist and show creator. What do they have in common? Originally purchased by his father back in the late 1950s, it was used as a daily driver for some time. It then went to a family member, until after years of use the little Henry J was put out to pasture in the family barn until Dan rescued it and shipped it to California.
