Following a blowout loss in their season opener against Farmington, Mercer County football is facing an even greater challenge with their season on pause over a positive COVID-19 test. Mercer County was set to take on the Knoxville Blue Bullets on Friday night but on Wednesday it became clear that the outbreak would be significant enough to cause the game to be forfeited to Knoxville as Mercer County cannot field a team. Knoxville Coach Ryan Hebard spoke to LocalSportsNow.com on Friday morning just as news of the cancellation was making its way to the media.
