About your guest:
Ryan Mitchell-Smith is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Wakefield. He writes a variety of catchy songs that range from jazzy and bluesy to pop and electronic, but all of them tend to make great earworms. He expresses himself by playing all the parts, recording and writing his original songs, specifically using music as a therapy to cope with the health issues that have affected him over recent years.
Due to this, Ryan does not gig as often as he used to, but he gigs where and when he can when he is well enough. Ryan is possibly most well-known for his Blues Harmonica playing, having regularly gigged around the Wakefield music scene for many years, featuring with local musicians and has even gigged with Nizlopi (The JCB Song) and supported people like Slade, Darius and Sam Lee.
His funk band “Shrood” have recently re-formed, where Ryan is the lead songwriter and frontman; he can also be seen featuring his harmonica and guitar with the extremely talented Ruby Macintosh.
