S 1 E 27 - IWCC Coaches Bill Riccieti and Chase Mitchell with NJCAA Champ Players Hagen Shonka and Keller Cannon - ESports College Level With An Education
Most don't understand that the gaming world has opportunities beyond their living room, bedroom, basement, or childhood, so they try to make sure their kids don't spend hours upon hours doing that activity. But we sit down with Iowa Western ESports Team Director and Head Coach Bill "Ser Wilhelm" Riccieti and Assistant Coach and also the Director of Operations from Kansas City Pioneers Chase "Kilk" Mitchell, talking about how the opportunities aren't just being able to game at a high level but how grades, practices, workouts, and expectation all play a role at a College level. They brought 2 of their active NJCAA Champions, Hagen "Getsuga" Shonka, who is 2x Call of Duty Gunflight Champ, and Keller "The Peeler" Cannon, the Mario Kart Champ, to give the inside of the dedication, teamwork, and drive to become a champion and play at a collegiate level and hopefully become a professional ESports gamer. We finish with breaking down the local even MAGE: Mid America Gamers Expo taking place September 9th and 10th, featuring the games Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament with a prize pool of $6,000 up for grabs many collegiate ESports teams will be competing in.
