Giving back to the sport you love can take you on a rollercoaster ride. Are you able to hold on and give it your all? This is the journey of how two student-athletes could have such different experiences with a similar route and create a more significant connection by giving back to our future student-athletes in Omaha. We sit down with Strength & Conditioning Coach Eli "Axcess" Hammond from Colorado Springs, who now resides in Omaha after getting to play football and get a degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. While in Kearney, he met his teammate Chris Fant from Omaha, who also earned his degree, but he came back home to play a few other levels of football before becoming a High School Head Football Coach; these 2 took their passion and drive that they had during those UNK RMAC Championship years and give to kids that needed more than just a coach. Both lead as mentors, fathers, uncles, brothers, and coaches all in one too many young men that still reach out and call them COACH to this day, the one name you never lose once you earn that respect.
