Anyone especially Black individuals who willingly participates in a sorority or fraternity and then seeks to assume a leadership after it should be looked at critically. These organizations, while often cloaked in tradition, service, and unity, have long histories of toxic hazing rituals, secrecy, and elitism that contradict true leadership values. The normalization of harm under the guise of "brotherhood" or "sisterhood" reflects a fall mentality a willingness to conform to oppressive, outdated systems for the sake of status or belonging. For Black individuals, the contradiction is even deeper. To engage in organizations that mimic exclusionary practices rooted in white supremacy while claiming to uplift the community is hypocritical. The issue of hazing and abuse hasn't been addressed only hidden. It's been buried under legacy, pride, and performative progress. True leadership doesn’t need to harm others to build character, nor does it rely on gatekeeping to validate influence.
