In the first episode, J & D discuss the current global landscape, and the momentum taking us closer to war.  The Dooms Day Clock is now set to two minutes till midnight. Over the years the clock has shifted between five minutes to the occasional four minutes till midnight. However, only one other time in history has the Clock been set so close. That occurred shortly after Operation Ivy when the US tested thermonuclear weapons and the Soviets quickly followed suit with a thermonuclear weapon of their own. The doomsday clock plays an ominous warning to the world. Moreover, the Clock acts as a metaphor for man's fallibility and greed in the governance of world affairs.
