The Berkshire Eagle recently opened a new South County news bureau at 168 Main St. in Great Barrington.

To celebrate the opening, the paper held an open house with refreshments; a discussion of how to get items placed in the paper; a demonstration of tips for taking better photographs and a live production of a podcast.

Podcast host Mark Mills interviewed those in attendance about life in the Berkshires, and why they feel it is such a special place. He also spoke with Eagle reporters Heather Bellow and Derek Gentile about stories they are covering and the benefits of working out of the new bureau.
