Lazarus Theatre Company - Spotlight on

S01:06 Spotlight on: Alice Emery

Listen Later

This week Ricky and Gavin talk to actor, stage combat specialist, fight director and Lazarus Associate, Alice Emery! Alice trained at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts and Drama Centre London, the latter inspiring her deep love of Early Modern playwrights. She received further training as an instructor for the Academy of Performance Combat and runs the sword fighting demonstrations at Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibitions. Alice first worked with Lazarus in 2014/15 in Shakespeare’s Henry V at the Union Theatre, then went on to work on our devised production of Euripides The Bacchae at The Blue Elephant Theatre, John Ford’s Tis Pity She’s a Whore at the Tristan Bates Theatre, the rehearsed reading of John Gay’s seldom seen sequel to The Beggar’s Opera, Polly the sequel all in 2016 and most recently, played Lady Macbeth in our 2020 production of Macbeth just before the theatre shutdown.
