I was recently listening to Dr. Peterson's podcast, and he has multiple times now challenged as to why anyone would dare claim to believe in God. While I do think he makes some very solid points, there's a couple subtleties that his response is lacking. I haven't yet heard anyone give a great response, so I decided it was time to surface the podcast boat and send out an episode.
I do think that Peterson actually raises a very accurate and compelling points that all of us who claim to believe in God, and who claim to be Catholic, should take seriously. We are all, in a way, challenged to step up our game. To put our money where our mouth is - so to speak. I mean this both literally and figuratively.
I believe there is a path to understand both the value and truth of an ideal (or set of ideals), while differentiating our various levels of efforts and striving towards them. That's what this episode is about.
