God is the creator and designer of friendship. We see plenty of examples of good (and bad) friendships in the Bible. Friendship is a gift, but so many times we can mistakenly make friendship a goal in our life. When we begin to view our friendships as goals instead of gifts, we lean on our friends to fill us in ways they were not designed to. But what about the absence of friendship? Inevitably, there is loneliness in our journey of finding friends as well. In this episode, we talk about what to do in the absence of friendships and how to shift our mindset in the loneliness. When searching for friends, often times, we encounter them in an unlikely place: when we make the first move. When we initiate the search for a friend instead of waiting for friends to come to us, it can pave the way of transparency, vulnerability and hospitality in our friendships.
