Martin is an experienced engineering manager and in our conversation we talk about a range of topics including mentoring, getting better as a leader through listening and being vulnerable. He had some valuable ideas for new leaders and perhaps this is a session where the conversation felt more like a therapy. Instead of just going over easy bits and making the conversation more snack-able, we insisted to taking our time in building a shared understanding of topics discussed and also share personal stories that will help reinforce the ideas for all listeners.
