On this episode Neil Starr plays recording from one of America's most popular African American dance bands of the 20's and early 30's; McKinney's Cotton Pickers. Here are some great recordings of a band that is almost forgotten by dance band enthusiasts today. It featured some terrific jazz musicians in it's lineup including: Benny Carter, Fats Waller and James P Johnson.
