Dr. Rafaela Andrade is the Co-founder and CEO of Myomar Molecular, a Canadian biotechnology company at the forefront of muscle health monitoring. Rafaela’s scientific journey began at Dalhousie University, where she earned her PhD in the laboratory of Dr. Paola Marignani, focusing on the intersection of cancer and metabolism. Her transition from the bench to industry accelerated during her postdoctoral studies at the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), where she was recognized nationally as a leading female biotech founder. It was there that she pioneered the technology behind Myomar, which utilizes molecular biomarkers to monitor and predict muscle health. In recognition of her impact on the industry, she was named the 2023 Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year.
