He is an industrialist, an educationist, an academician, and an angel investor and philanthropy has been passed on to him as part of his family legacy.

Based on his own personal learning and experiences of studying abroad, today he has set up an international-level private university Somaiya Vidyavihar, in the heart of Mumbai.

In his free time, he loves going outdoors. One of his favourite spots to go to is Mahabaleshwar. He is none other than Samir Somaiya.
