[Episode 18 Art of Self-Mastery and Winning Before the Battle - Should We Leverage on Psychological Warfare? ]
Born in south Alabama, Josh grew up spending most of his time on the Baseball diamond & the summer months harvesting and selling watermelons. His immediate family moved from state to state about every year or so as his stepdad rose in the ranks of a major clothing retailer. Always being the new kid in school, overweight and dripped out with the latest Tommy Hilfiger gear, Josh caught flack from many of his peers. While most would see this as a setback, he saw it as an opportunity to refine himself frequently. In his early high school days Josh became moderately obsessed with fitness, transforming from fat kid to pretty boy. This enhanced his confidence but also brought on more attention from the haters. He always did his best to never identify with any specific social group as this would hinder his mobility among them. This resulted in intense levels of self-loathing and depression as all he ever wanted at the time was to be accepted and loved. Fast forward a couple years to his early twenties where he met his biological father Steve. They were spitting images of each other. Steve held great wisdom and was moderately successful at real estate development but dually was a self absorbed playboy. All Josh ever wanted was to be accepted and taught by Steve. Josh was never scared to propose a mentor/mentee partnership to his father but always met with over promises and vague plans that were killed off at the last minute. Josh uprooted his life many times, in big ways to meet the terms laid out by his father. Never once did Steve come through on his promises.. Over the course of this time period, a little over 10 years, Josh was no bum. He took major risks to educate himself. Many times he would take jobs in far away states with very little resources, oftentimes starting out living in his car, showering at gyms and eating tuna packs from walmart. He would build from ground zero relying on his mastery of building rapport and identifying power dynamics of any room. Around the time of Steve’s death in January 2021, Josh was blindsided with termination of a mentorship with a well known Hall of Fame level Realtor. This is where all the stressors of the past and injuries from hardcore fitness training landed on him all at once. Josh was debilitated with insanely high levels of nerve pain that ran throughout his lower body. He could barely walk for about 3 months. He laid on the floor of his apartment, crying, praying and fasting for the majority of that time period. Josh’s legs rapidly atrophied making him walk with a noticeable limp. He mapped out a standard operating procedure and script flow for a human run machine that generated about 150 million dollars worth of real estate listing leads in a matter of just months. At the time Josh only capitalized on about 10% of these leads due to his Pa’s death, additional bouts of lingering nerve pain and more so being focused on the training and refining the lead gen machine than actually closing the deals. As of right now, Josh averages selling about 10-15 million dollars of real estate per year over his +3 year career. He could do far more but he’s focused on building his legs back to a respectable size & strength as well as creating the best version of himself. This is far more important to him than just closing more real estate deals. Currently he is focused on taking his wisdom, experience and teachings to the online self-improvement coaching space. ________________________________
