Lucy Popescu’s TEDx talk focuses on the power of words, free expression and the experiences of refugees. Her aim is to encourage empathy for those forced to flee their homes and foster a better understanding of their plight. Lucy Popescu is a writer and editor with a background in human rights. She worked with the English Centre of PEN, the international association of writers, for over 20 years and is a volunteer writing mentor for refugees at Freedom from Torture.
