What type of marriage do you have? Is it a love-based union or one that primary focuses on security, parenting, or companionship?
In this episode, Susan and I explore the different marriage models that exist outside of what we call today, a traditional marriage. Marriage has changed a lot in the past 1000 years. Understanding that there is not a one size fits all model for every couple will help individuals discover the marriage model that works best for their needs and situation.
Susan Pease Gadoua is a licensed therapist based in the San Francisco Bay Area with expertise in helping couples reconnect or disconnect in a healthy way. Her career mission is to take the shame out of divorce and reshape marriage into something that fits more people instead of a one size fits all model.
In 2006, Susan began helping couples shape what became known as the Parenting Marriage. Since then, Susan has helped dozens of couples transition their marriage from a love-based union to one in which raising happy, healthy kids are the primary focus.
