S1 E17: The Universe Snapped into Place with Dodi Exume

Listen Later

When Dodi got pregnant in 2020, a study was released about maternal mortality data for her demographic: Black women in the US are over three times more likely to die during childbirth than white women. Black babies are over two times more likely to die during birth than white babies. While she had an easy time conceiving and was excited to begin her journey as a mother, she dove head first into research and prep to improve her chances of a safe birth outcome. Dodi is a wealth of knowledge for all expecting moms and new parents, from advice on how to hire the right doula to listening to your body when labor is intense and looking inward is the only way to move forward.
