This episode, Jeff and Greg are tackling the (in)famous 'Roddenberry Rules' - the show rules creator Gene Roddenberry instituted and famously held to strictly. Though many trek fans seems to know of these rules, most of it's through heresy and legend, so we attempt to sift through it all.

  5. not writing fantasy - based on a scientific fact/theory

  6. no swords & sorcery

  7. treat space travel like minor thing - distance traveled a thing

  8. Not melodrama - believable people

  9. No stories about warfare w/Klingons or Romulans and no Vulcan stories - new alien species

  10. Prime Directive - not space meddlers

  11. Specific characters, not whole civilizations

  12. No mad scientist/science as bad guys

  13. no characters intentionally doing something stupid, or bad tech
