S1 E42 Pre-planned Fraud or Moral Awakening

Listen Later

This episode of discusses the Brody Law Group's letter  to the Kings County Supreme Court and an excerpt of a deposition transcript from non-party witness Jeiner Barboza. The letter, dated October 16, 2025, from Scott A. Brody, advocates for a pending motion to dismiss the underlying personal injury action, Candor v. QB Development Owner LLC and Omnibuild Construction Inc., alleging that the plaintiff, Freddy Daniel Moyano Candor, engaged in fraudulent conduct. To support this claim, the letter introduces the transcript of Jeiner Barboza's deposition, which contains testimony suggesting that Candor intentionally staged his accident due to a large debt, even offering Barboza money to assist in the fraud. The deposition itself details Barboza's account of the incident, his belief that Candor had a prior knee injury he planned to blame on the worksite incident, and Barboza's own admission that he had faked his separate, subsequent accident on the same day under the influence of "bad friends" before dropping his resulting lawsuit.
