In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus told Peter “upon this rock I will build my church the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” and then gave him the keys to the Kingdom. In essence, Jesus told his disciple that the church had all the power it needed in order to perform the work of the Kingdom. Fast forward to 2020 and the doors of the church are no longer opened, but many of them have been forced to close. Where is the church? Has it lost its power? Will the church be forever changed? Is the church succumbing to the world’s fate? Let’s discuss what’s happening in the world around us and ask ourselves the question, if the Savior were still walking around the world- what would Jesus do?
