The Imperfect PT Podcast: S1, Ep8 – The Guest Pod: Tom McPartlan
As we draw our first season of recordings to a close, what better way to end it than with our first guest appearance. Now, we make no apology for our content thus far being relatively female biased (quite an understandable leaning given your hosts are both women) but we thought it time we turned the tables and focussed on the male perspective of perfectionism and all it’s issues when it comes to training and nutrition. So, in today’s episode we welcome the wonderful Tom McPartlan to the pod. As a former CrossFit gym owner and current online coach, Tom opens up about his own struggles with ego and perfectionism, how training became an all consuming obsession to the detriment of his relationships and well being and what led him to making some pretty important career and lifestyle changes. He also explains how becoming a first time Dad has changed his priorities and outlook towards achieving a better balance in his training and nutrition practices.
It was a great conversation between three like-minded individuals who all bring their own unique experiences to the table.
