Beyond Beautiful: Disability, Liberation, and Love

S1 Ep. 9: Beyond Charity

Listen Later

In this episode of Beyond Beautiful, we explore what poverty really is: a system created through the privatization and hoarding of resources God intended for everyone. Inspired by All Riches Come from Injustice by J. Stephen Morrison, I talk about how scripture calls out greed, gluttony, and stealing — and how hoarding wealth is actually taking more than our portion.

As Christians, we often see charity as generosity. But through a justice lens, charity becomes something deeper: returning what was never ours in the first place. This connects directly to disability justice and the ways our systems keep disabled people in poverty.

If you’ve wondered how faith, justice, and disability liberation intersect, this episode is for you.
