Now that the trial is complete we have even more details about what happened the day 17-year-old Bernadette vanished. After telling her mother in July 2020 that her step-father had been sexually abusing her for years, her mother calls her a liar and sends her to her grandparent's home. Her step-father picked her up from her grandparents on the morning of the 18th and Bernadette was never seen again. Her parents would wait three days to call and report her as a runaway, but investigators quickly determined there was something more sinister going on.
