HIV is a virus that the majority of us have heard of, yet many people are still uninformed about the disease and its consequences. Due to this, it is crucial to share our little knowledge about HIV however we also want to stop the stigma or misconceptions about it and to increase awareness and help prevent the spread of this virus. 

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, leading to weakness and rendering the body susceptible to infections. HIV is primarily transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse, the sharing of needles, and from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding.

Misconceptions can be dangerous as they can lead to complacency or fear. For instance, a common misconception is that HIV is only contracted through sexual intercourse. However, every time we share a needle or engage in unprotected sex, we put ourselves at risk of contracting the virus.
