The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support Defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
In episode 15, Jan Cox, Regional Employer Engagement Director for Merseyside, Cheshire and the Isle of Man talks to Matt Burrows, Director of Self Build Heroes, to discuss their relationship with Defence. Self Build Heroes first signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2019, and this year have been recognised with an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award. They chat about all things advocacy, best practice, and what getting to Gold means to them as an organisation.
