He tells them that it is for their benefit that He goes away, because then the Holy Spirit will come to convict, guide in truth, bring glory to God, and help us be courageous. While the disciples experience grief and sorrow now, it is only temporary and will turn to joy. Jesus leaves them and us with the promise of peace. Despite the hardship we face here, we can take have peace and take heart. He has overcome the world.
