Character death. It’s not a big topic on the forum, or in general discussion about Savage Worlds. Bennies tend to tip the balance in favor of the player characters— using Bennies to Soak wounds and re-roll on the Incapacitation table being what they are. And that’s before you add the Heroes Never Die Setting Rule.

All of this can lead to the false perception that the “pulpy” nature of the game protects characters from death. Nothing could be further from the truth. The game isn’t called Fluffy Feel Good Worlds.  Savage is in the title for a reason.
