In Islam, Satan (also known as Iblis or Shaytan) is seen as a force that works to lead individuals away from the path of righteousness and towards sin and disobedience. One of the ways in which Satan is believed to do this is by causing a person to forget. This concept is mentioned in several verses of the Quran, such as in Surah Kahf when the companion of Moses tells him that Satan made him forget, and when Allah mentions that if Satan makes you forget saying "Insha-Allah" (God willing), you should do so when you remember it.
The idea of Satan causing a person to forget is not only mentioned in the Quran, but also in narrations from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Ahl-e-Bait (the Prophet's family). These narrations further explain the concept and provide guidance on how to protect oneself from Satan's influence.
We will explore the role of Satan causing a person to forget in Islam, and examine the references from verses of the Quran and narrations from the Prophet and Ahl-e-Bait to understand how Satan is believed to do this. Additionally, we will look at the various ways in which a person can protect themselves from Satan's influence and the impact that Satan causing a person to forget can have on achieving one's goals and New Year's Resolutions.
